Equiterre, a Montreal-based organization, aims to foster collective transitions towards a fair and environmentally sustainable future through solutions, social norm transformation, and policy advocacy.

The SDGQ, a professional association for graphic designers in Quebec, annually hosts a poster contest to enhance the skills of aspiring designers and promote common causes, particularly addressing climate urgency. This year, the contest, focused on climate change, is being conducted in collaboration with Équiterre.

The poster for this contest must effectively convey a sense of urgency to prompt action on climate change. It should feature bold messaging and impactful imagery to captivate viewers and will be displayed at the McCord Museum.

FINAL

The final poster depicts a melted earth akin to a dropped ice-cream cone on a summer day. The stamped title, symbolizing environmental footprint, adds texture and urgency. With the simple yet thoughtprovoking title “On laisse tomber?” (Are we giving up?), viewers are prompted to contemplate the consequences of neglecting environmental protection.
